MANUAL 4: PRIMARY NEWBORN CARE
This manual has been prepared for nurses and doctors who provide primary care to newborn infants in clinics and district hospitals.
Most of the details relating to care of level II infants in the Newborn Care manual (manual 2) have been excluded. The five units address the care of normal and asphyxiated infants immediately after delivery, care of the normal infant, care of the low birth weight infant, the management of neonatal emergencies, and the management of common problems in the newborn infant.
